“I didn’t sign up for this” you say aloud to no one in particular. “I just wanted to solve some puzzles, not chase around an international super-criminal.” With a muttered curse, you wonder why you ever agreed to join ACME. You also wonder why anyone would ever write in the 2nd person. But no time for that now, you’ve got a mystery to solve.
Here’s what you know: The career criminal Carmen Sandiego has stolen the Hoover Dam. Without its power, the city of Las Vegas will be dark. You’ve got to track it down, and quick! (You’ve got tickets to see Cirque du Soleil and you’ve heard really good things) At the site, you found Carmen’s BlackBerry (the model number is scratched off, but you do recognize it as the first Blackberry to use SureType technology), apparently dropped during her getaway. With a quick search through the outgoing messages, you see this:
“Bingo! I scored the dam, but I had to scrabble away quickly. I’m on the run, but I’d be shocked if those snakes at ACME could tile together the clues quickly enough to catch me, even if they were lucky. If you need to find me (and you Butts always seem to need my help), you’ll find me picking up my new bracelet from the jewelers. It’s an attractive piece and I can’t wait to show it off, by posing in front of my new dam!
You’ve got to stop her! Where did she go? (Correct answer must include a city and state)
